Capabilities extension: pagination for content section

Thanks to the capabilities cache, large capabilities documents like this one http://insitu.webservice-energy.org/52n-sos-webapp/sos?service=SOS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities are no big deal for the SOS. And ~ 600 KB might not be soo large either, but what about a pagination for the contents section - would that even be possible according to OWS?

Just an idea..
