For those like me who used aws-vault daily but stopped because there haven’t been any releases since March 2023—which, for a tool that handles AWS credentials, must be kept up to date—here’s an excellent open source alternative: https://github.com/common-fate/granted

my little research have shown that @creativej @lwc and @mtibben are the last 3 members of 99designs github org. it seems that @mtibben have moved to another company and I couldn't find any data on the other two, but it seems that 99designs have also been bought by another company called vista.com

In any case, I feel that aws-vault is feature-complete for 99% of the cases.
Do I wish for security updates? yes.
Do I wish for 1pass backend support? (#404) yes, will it have it? i don't think so, even tho 99designs/keyring#130 has been implemented almost a year and a half ago.

but good to know that we have alternatives. I really hope we could, in the worst case, transfer the ownership to someone that wants to and have the time to properly maintain it.
