How to 'retire' items

Hi,

what is your recommended approach for retiring items in the radar? For example, if we have decided that a technology is no longer suitable for us and we no longer want it to show in the radar at all.

It looks like we could use the featured flag to hide it from the main radar, but this will still show in the overview. I also thought about adding an Active tag, but then this will show up Active as a tag in the UI which is not really what we want either. Do you think it would be possible to add an 'obsolete' flag to the radar items as a feature request?

sorry for the (very) late reply. We’ve also been discussing the need to retire blips that are several years old and effectively obsolete. One idea is to define a four-stage lifecycle for each item (wording still to be refined):

1. Featured – displayed both on the radar and in the overview
2. Active – displayed in the overview (possibly greyed out)
3. Retired – not displayed in either the overview or the radar, but the details page remains accessible (e.g., for direct links from search engines)
4. Disabled – effectively removed; links to the detail page would return a 404

Would something like this cover your use case?
