Adjustable level of detail for derivative story #18

For example, it would be nice to disable explanations for polynomial parts of expressions, or whatever. Maybe suppress explanation of sum rule.

It seems like the rules people have most trouble with are product, quotient and chain rule, so it would be nice to have a story where only these are explained.

It would be kind of neat to structure the text in a way that revealed the order of operations in the problem. Expanding "subhints".

This sounds - cool. In lieu of "expanding text" we could have different options on compiling the pdf text...
A "basic calculus" option that would omit proofs or something
A "medium" option that would be a std calc txt
An "advanced" option that would be basically one step below a real analysis text.

Each of these could come from the same tex files...
