10/6 Weekly Update #153
Description
This past week the team went to the wastewater facility to insert sludge into the reactor and set up piping for the gas line and the influent. The sludge was a 50:50 mixture of sludge taken from the wastewater facility and sludge granules from Cornell.
A batch dose of wastewater was added to the reactor and the half-full sludge granule container to ensure proper nutrition for the bacteria. The effluent pipe was glued on Monday. The splash shield was preventing the tipping bucket from rotating so it had to be fabricated so that it could be attached to the holding tank and not prevent movement of the tipping bucket. Finally, Cara was trained for BOD testing.
