Description
It doesn't matter what the developer's reason for not releasing an update in almost a year is. This is an open-source project; developers owe nothing to anyone, and they can develop however they want. But Chromium releases a new security update almost every week, some with critical security fixes. Unlike other apps, it's simply foolish to continue using a Chromium browser just because it might still work for the time being; it's a serious security risk. Sites like chromiumchecker.com already show 190 security vulnerabilities closed since the last update, but there are even more, as the site only shows vulnerabilities fixed with major updates, and the weekly security updates also including typically ~3 security fixes.
In this state, no one should really be using the browser. I won't name any in this context, but there are good, very fast FOSS Chromium browsers that also barely change the standard Chromium user experience, you should better switch.
