Although effects are functional, they're not currently useful to most users and the feature often goes entirely overlooked. One way to fix this current underutilization would be to permit loading of an effects folder located inside a character folder, which would allow casual character creators to implement the feature rather than having to involve themselves with themes.
This would also have the additional perk of allowing creators to cut back drastically on variant emotes.
eg. If I were making a character with 5 emotes and 15 variations of those emotes, a set of 5 for a blush variant, a set of 5 for a sweat variant, and a set of 5 for a variant with both blush and sweat, I could use a character-specific effect folder to cut 20 emotes down to 5 emotes and 3 effects. This would have an even greater impact on characters with particularly large emote sets. On top of that, it would also make creating characters like this much less tedious overall.
