How to process description of dynamics, like "cresc - - - " ; "dim." and other marks like "legatissimo" etcetera.?

In my image I have several descriptions of dynamics, like "cresc - - - " ; "dim." and other marks like "legatissimo" etcetera.
Maybe I misread the handbook (could easily be :-) ) and could not find a better way then:

• Assign text to the glyph and enter the text I see. In Audiveris this looks quit well. (see image)

• I export the result to lilypoind (frescobaldi). I am happy with the result, just few things to fix there.

What I see is, that about half of the above mentioned text inters are not processed.
One of them landed in the headers of the piece?? (while I set all of them to Direction (not knowing if that is the correct action, but trial and erroring around).
I must be doing something wrong. But what ? and how to solve this.

The words like "cresc", "dim", "legattissimo", etc are just words,
They generally get recognized by the OCR and assigned a role (the direction role, most of the time), and exported as such in the MusicXML data stream.

Are they correctly handled by a sequencer like Musescore which reads the MusicXML data as input? I think not.

What does work however, is the recognition and transfer of dynamics symbols like crescendo/diminuendo wedges as well as f, ff, p, pp, ppp, symbols. In other words: symbols are OK, words are ... just words :-)

Should these words not appear like marks in lilypond?
Only this one arrived in lilypond: -\markup \fontsize #-1.297 legattissimo
and the strange thing: poet = "cresc."

Also tried width Musescore, a little bit better but still there are missing 5 or 6 ?

What "better results" are you looking for?
Like I said, words will stay words.
Are you thinking of missing dynamics symbols? In that case, which ones are missing?

Could you precise which are, for you, these 5 or 6 missing items?

Please have a look at the Audiveris screenshot (first on this page):
1st system: legatissimo ; cresc. ; dim.
2nd : cresc
3rd system: dim. cresc,
5th system: cresc and largamento
6th system cresc - - - and dim - - - -
In fact only two words survived in Lilypond: legatissimo + cresc (in header)
In Musescore: three words: legatissimo + two times cresc.

Yes!
This is so because of the various heuristics used to assign a role to a given sentence.
The "cresc" sentence at the top left corner was found located in the header and certainly assigned a role consistent with that location...
