General Twincat2 under Windows11 - Timeout problem

hi!

I have upgraded to windows11 and my twincat2 has problems to connect to my control unit CX9001.
I can setup a route and then I am asked for the user + password. This is checked correctly, but after that, the System Manager shows in yellow TIMEOUT.
I tried in a new VMWARE, it also does not work on windows11. In Windows10 it works correctly.
Has anyone found out what the problem is ?

Tried to stop windows 11 defender... also not working.

found solution:
For Windows 11, the route to the client PC must be manually created on the CX9001, otherwise a RST (Reset) will occur, visible in Wireshark (the CX9001 blocks the connection).

Steps:
Assign a static IP to the local PC using MAC address binding in the router
(in my case: 192.168.1.30)

Connect to the CX9001 via CERHOST.exe

Open Start → Run → regedit

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Beckhoff\TwinCAT\Remote
Add the following entries:
New Key: use the PC name (in my case: BUEROPC)

Under that key, add the following New DWORD values:

Flags = 0 (Decimal)

Timeout = 0 (Decimal)

TransportType = 1 (Decimal)

Add the following New String values:

AmsNetId = 192.168.1.30.1.1

Address = 192.168.1.30

See screenshot (regedit_win11) – note that the AmsNetId may appear differently than entered due to formatting.

Final Steps:
Perform a Start / Suspend on the CX9001 to restart the controller.

In TwinCAT (on the Engineering PC), run a Broadcast Search to find the CX9001

Important: when adding the route in TwinCAT, use the IP address (not the name)
