Realtime Export Calculation

Hi,

Please can someone advise if its possible to get a real-time export total reading? I have a home mini and whenever I am exporting the power goes negative so I feel it should be extractable data that can summarize and accumulate export data through the day so you have a total figure at the end of the day.

Hello. The home mini unfortunately doesn't provide consumption data for exports. I believe you could create a template sensor that converts the demand into a rough current consumption sensor with the following template

This assumes though that the demand sensor is successfully read every 1 minute, which can sometimes not be the case, and assumes that the demand is consistently the read value for that whole minute, which is probably not true. It is these reasons why this estimated sensor is not provided natively by the integration. You could then use a utility meter against this template sensor to get the daily value.

I must note, I haven't really tested this theory so it might not be quite right, and as mentioned the above assumptions could cause a sensor which is wildly out. Most people I believe try and integrate their inverters directly instead of via the OE integration.

do you know if you can TOTAL EXPORT READING from the meter (the reading you would give to your supplier for billing).

I can see that it’s available for TOTAL IMPORT (sensor.octopus_energy_electricity_21l4685996_1900020297631_current_total_consumption)
