[BUG] Adhoc network doesn't work #95

Describe the bug
We've been able to connect the Pi to the surface laptop with a single Ethernet patch cable before (no router). Try to get this working again.
This stackexchange question might help, but I think the first answer is wrong (modern devices don't need crossover cables).
