With the current configuration, all IPs on the 10.0.0.0/8 range will be redirected by the OpenVPN connection (and thus certain intranet-based IPs cannot connect without disconnecting the tunnel).
This change allows the rest of the private IP range to not be redirected, which is applicable if your local ethernet range is also using the 10.0.0.0/8 range. See Private IPv4 addresses.
Ideally, during installation, you should be allowed to change the IP range depending on your use case and expected number of users (for example, if you're only expecting a max of 254 users, you should just use the 192.168.0.0/16 range), but this requires a larger PR.
