Explore all Hourly data vs wake hour hourly data

Timing

What does day-time mean?

  • What are day-time hours for Beijing time
  • Do we need to consider non-Beijing time day-time hours

Aggregation and exclusion function

Function should generalize to allow for easy alternatives between hour choices. All files set-up to easily run all results with alternative hours-based file.

  • How to aggregate/exclude to consider only day time hours
  • Key results/analysis based on either all hours or wake hours in main vs in appendix.

All times are UTC based. China spans five geographical time zones: UTC+5, UTC+6, UTC+7, UTC+8, and UTC+9. What we can do is to convert the UTC time to local time based on the time zone. Depending on the latitude, the sunrise and sunset time varies. I am still thinking if it's appropriate/how to define wake time. How about we use 9am to 5pm, typical workday hours during which people are economically active.
