Description
What feature are you suggesting?
Overview:
I would like to request clarification and potential support for several features in the Colosseum project, particularly in comparison with Microsoft AirSim. These features are important for simulation control and data collection workflows.
Smaller Details:
-
Vehicle Support (Cars):
Is Colosseum intended to support only multirotor (drone) simulation, or is it also possible to enable car/vehicle simulation similar to Microsoft AirSim?
If car simulation is supported, please clarify the recommended configuration or setup steps. -
Keyboard Control for Drones:
Is keyboard-based control for drones supported in Colosseum?
If yes, are there specific settings, plugins, or API configurations required to enable it? -
Depth and Segmentation Image Recording:
Does Colosseum support capturing and recording Depth (e.g., DepthPlanar) and Segmentation images via the API?
If so, what is the recommended or officially supported method to enable and use these image types?
Nature of Request:
- Addition
- Change
Why would this feature be useful?
These features are essential for research, dataset generation, and simulation-based development workflows.
Keyboard control allows easier testing without specialized hardware, vehicle (car) support enables broader autonomy experiments, and Depth/Segmentation image capture is critical for computer vision, robotics, and machine learning applications. Supporting or clearly documenting these capabilities would significantly improve usability and adoption of Colosseum for research and development purposes.
