Description
This is related to the community review being done on the LCEVC addition to IOP section 7.
VVC Main 10 is a supported codec, per https://dashif.org/codecs/video/ , but it is not included in Table 1 of the current IOP or proposed revision at https://docs.google.com/document/d/14FSYrs2OrUrI1jJu7xhpWShjABik63Ts/edit#bookmark=id.gjdgxs
I don't understand why it wouldn't be.
Also, the proposed edits to section 7 strike the following line:
If VVC [8] media conforming to the VVC media profile listed in Error! Reference source not found. is provided in a bitstream and the media is encapsulated in an ISO BMFF track [4], then the file format track shall conform with the requirements of the codec entry 'vvc1' or 'vvci' as defined in ISO/IEC 14496-15 [5].
If this is accepted, VVC isn't mentioned at all in the section, except for the (potentially dangling )reference to the ISO spec.
SVTA is well aware that the SBTVD Forum is referencing DASH-IF IOP, and needs VVC+LCEVC support as this combination is normative in the Brazil spec. Adding LCEVC but making VVC invisible seems dubious.
Propose to add VVC to Table 1, and to keep the sentence noted above, to ensure explicit VVC support in the IOP.
