As part of #53, I'm looking into how to make the online content for livesim publicly available so that one can set up one own's livesim2 instance with the same content as livesim.
These are all an hour long and the combined size of all the files in the respective assets are approximately 200MB, 200MB, 500MB, after some cleaning and reducing max bitrate to 600kbps.
For easy and efficient download, it would be better to provide the content as one big zip or tar/tgz file instead of thousands of small files. A more advanced option would be to make an archive of each representation directory, and let the MPDs and other top-level files be stored as normal files. That would make download/installation more complex, but would allow for changes in the MPDs without changing the archives.

The assets I think should be copied (after cleaning) from https://livesim.dashif.org/dash/vod are
testpic_2s
testpic_6s
testpic4_8s

I think the latter is the best option, and I made a first shot in the new repo https://github.com/dash-Industry-Forum/livesim-content to see how it works out.
Any feedback on this approach is welcome.
