S.M.A.R.T support

Hey,

I'm using the Nix-Relic on physical server and I tried to google how I could monitor S.M.A.R.T issues with New Relic.

This topic came up:

And the recommendation was to generate the data from cli and to push them with flex metrics.

Is this still the best practice and if so how could I ensure that the flex integration is up and running on my server?

Hi @onnimonni ! Sorry for the delay. As far as I know the instructions in the link you shared should still work and should be the current best practice, as I'm not aware of the infrastructure-agent having gained this capability recently.

I don't have nri-flex packaged for Nix but should be pretty straight forward to do so and include it in this flake. Let me give it a shot!

However, as for adding support for integrations inside the infrastructure-agent module, I'm still thinking about the best way to achieve this with NixOS modules given how the infrastructure-agent interacts with integrations. This also affects support for logging as requested here. I might have something soonish but not in the immediate future.

Fortunately, the flex integration can be used stand-alone, so when I package it for Nix it would only be a matter of including it in your system and calling it with a cron job or similar to send the data to New Relic.
