Goal: Be able to compare indices that assess vulnerability within the Delta by integrating these indices in a tool. Develop a comprehensive understanding on what is the input of each index and how vulnerability is calculated. If possible develop a reproducible way of recreating these indices.

Step 1: We need to understand if it is feasible to integrate/cross-compare data, so we should discuss the answers to:

  • What is the data source?
  • How is it calculated (formula/rationale)?
  • What is the spatial extent?
  • Is it reproducible? Static or update(bale)? If not, what would be required to make it reproducible?
  • If there is a temporal scale, what is it (one-year vs. five-year data source)?
  • How is it interpreted?
  • Draft the formula and/or conceptual models for each index (or share what already exists).

**Outcome ** – Visualizing and comparing vulnerability estimates - summary table and/or conceptual model including each index we are considering.

Timeline

  • Have responses to the above on hand for our meeting on Dec 12.

Responsibilities

  • Camila – CDC
  • Chris – Delta Adapts
  • Kelsey – CalEnviroScreen
  • Xoco - Healthy Places Index
  • Stephanie – USEPA - EJscreen, CEJST ?
  • Pascale - BCDC

Next steps:

Review the group's availability and intentions/contributions to our group’s final product, so we can discuss what it will be.
