• Offer a "simple" mode with just time picker and data display (dots on dates)
• Offer another simple mode with just the date display and left/right buttons
• Offer a simple "slider" mode with a minimalist slider that can be embedded in other elements, e.g. layercontrol
• Offer an expert "time axis" mode which shows available dates on a time axis
• When connected to a map: offer a functionality to export a time range as animation/video
• Support having multiple timeline "layers"
• Support filtering the items on the date picker & timeslider (e.g. cloud cover)
• Support filtering of animation frames (e.g. cloud cover)
• Support mobile screens

Possible Evolution

• Advanced display of date picker "dots" and timeslider bars depending on data (differnt colors/patterns?)
• Zoomable simple and time axis mode
• ...
