Maybe it is a good idea, when manipulating the selected time period on the timeslider, to implement an additional "activation" step (simple "OKAY"-button) where the user has to confirm the selected time period. This would speed up the selection for cases where the user wants to extend or shorten the selected time period on both ends. At the moment, one must wait after each extension/shortening. This can be rather time-consuming depending on the length of the selected time period

In my opinion this makes sense, especially when the UI freezes until the response is ready. Maybe an additional Okay-button is too obtrusive, but a short delay until the final request is sent and data requested where the user can adjust the period would be more suitable.
We'll discuss this internally.
