How to indicate citation relationship?

Hi,
We are interested in indicating the relation type for citations similar to how DataCite does in their schema. So far, we have mapped items to "mentions", "isPartOf", and similar schema.org fields. However, not all of the relation types in DataCite have an obvious equivalent in schema.org. Is there a way to do this?

It doesn't cover all of the DataCite relationship fields, but is a good discussion of citation and usage relationships. See in particular this comment.

Thanks, Matt. I did notice those issues, but I was looking for more. I came up with the following, which works both for schema:mentions and schema:citations. The context is that we want to indicate some related resources that may (citation) or may not (mentions) be cited by the dataset (or software). We also want to indicate with type of relationship there is between the dataset/software and the indicated item. In this case, I decided to put the name of the metadata field the information came from in the description field. This could be the same approach used for indicating the datacite:relationTypes - just put the name of the relation type in the description field. This is likely possible with other fields in schema.org.
Any feedback?
