Access external micro sd card from the Desktop environment and resolution change errors

Hello,

I need to run apps from the Desktop that will me accessing the external microsd card (with full access) installed on the phone; is it possible ? Could you please detail the steps for ubuntu and anyDesktop?

I am also having issues trying to change the resolution from various os (ubuntu, debian) and Desktops (4 types), because the Display settings do not open at all.
