Description
In the publisher agreement (https://open-vsx.org/publisher-agreement-v1.0) you have the following clause:
- b. b. Support. You are responsible for any support of your Offerings.
MIcrosoft, IMO, has a more reasonable requirements in their publisher terms here: https://cdn.vsassets.io/v/M187_20210610.3/_content/Visual-Studio-Marketplace-Publisher-Agreement.pdf
Support. Microsoft is not responsible for providing support for your Offerings. You are responsible for
supporting your Offerings that are paid-for and fully available (i.e., not a preview release).
(top of the page 7)
Our concern is that we don't want to have any obligations to support anyone who downloads our extensions (though we are ok with the best effort support). I.e. the phrase could be considered as an obligation to provide support to anyone, which requires resources. This might be especially problematic to open source projects, and small organizations.
Microsoft requires you to support only paid for, non preview offerings, which makes such support sustainable.
Could you please do anything about it or clarify what it means?
