Entity rendering

Any ideas anyone? I think deepslate is based on three.js, so we may be able to fork it and add in support.

Deepslate is written with raw WebGL (1, not 2) (I doubt three.js vs WebGL changes much though), I guess you could try to add support, but it will be very annoying to parse the entity models since they're hardcoded in the source code. Deepslate's block entity rendering is also hardcoded, probably taken from the source code.

Yeah, I don't think we shoudl worry too much about faithfully rendering the entity, just a simple bounding box with a sprite should suffice I think. Only question is how to hook that into the rendering code so all occlusion etc works okay

That's still fundamentally hard to do, since even if we render the bounding box of the entity without a sprite, we need the size, which is written in the code (I tried for a bit but didn't find where, but I'm almost certain it's in the code). I think the best we can do is to have Deepslate handle this, or write a new rendering engine or something.

I don't mind hard-coding bb-sizes for entities, and getting some sprites. It's more the rendering the box which I'm worried about.

I actually wouldn't worry too much about that, since drawing a box in either raw WebGL or using Deepslate (try Renderer.drawMesh which Structure inherits). The best simple solution would be to parse the source code with a script to find bounding box sizes, but even then remember that it's a bit harder since it's controlled by the code such that there can be flexible bounding boxes that change (such as baby animals, shulker opening, polar bear, player sneaking and stuff).
