It’s pretty easy to test this.
In logic create a sine wave at -12db. Set BlackHole as the input and output. Record the input while playing the output. It should be exactly the same. It is in my tests. Make sure the volume level of BlackHole is set to 0db.
I suspect something else is going on. Aside from the volume trim BlackHole does not alter the audio. Check to make sure that whatever music you’re playing is at the correct sample rate. SRC will slightly alter the audio.
