flashing of new international 7530AX seems to be successful, but box comes back with standard firmware

The previous flash of the 7530AX was unsuccessful, but this month I've flashed several other flavours like the 7490, 7590 and also a brand new 7590 successfully.

I can see a difference in the procedure though. The successful flashes have all been 2-stage with 2 power cycles, whilst the 7530 starts transfer of the firmware immediately.

The 7530AX is an "Edition International" and the firmware I've selected in Freetz is International.

Because push_firmware never failed me before in all those years, I have little experience doing this procedure manually. I vaguely remember doing it some 5 years ago.

I've logged into the box with ftp adam2/adam2, but I don't really know how to start debugging as I do not know the commands...
I glanced through tools/pushfirmware and ran this seemingly innocent command:

What can I do to troubleshoot?

When an image is "bad" newer devices switch back to a working image in the 2nd partition set.
I never had a "FIT" device like 7530ax i cant tell anything more

I assume with "Fit", you mean this modern. Neither have I. Both price and promised performance made it seem a good deal

At least the 5790AX is working with Freetz-NG.
