Description
Hey there,
So i was trying to build the totem and tried to follow the instructions to the letter, until i connected the board and smoke started to come out.
After watching carefully i tried it a second time and the same happend.
and also for the third time, this time rechecking everything and checking continuity and all and it still went up in smoke. it is so bad it disables all my usb devices (because of an obvious short circuit).
I sincerely dont know what to do,
I was able to flash the firmware with no problems, but the moment i connect the thing it just goes up in smoke and i dont know whats going on.
is there anything i can check or verify? i have lost hope in this project to be honest and i just want to know if anyone has had the same experience and can point out to me if they had some luck trying something different.
the only thing i find strange is that the pin next to GND (not vcc) has continuity with ground, other than that. all pins have the correct continuity , the switches are soldered on the correct way (yes i had to redo it because i messed up my first attempt) the diodes are supposedly connected correctly (the line is on the side of the tip of the triangle with the line) the reset button has continuity with the bottom of the board and the battery sockets also have continuity with the bottom of the board.
is there anything else i can check?
