Sorry to ask this, out of nowhere, but we all can see that there's no active development for long time and that makes me suspect that the project has been abandoned.

I want to give TGE a try, but things are kinda awkward.

The community moved the repository to https://github.com/TorqueGameEngines/Torque3D because we couldn't get full rights to this repository, as in couldn't add more maintainers, as GarageGames is effectively dead.

dead vs. popular

UltraBurstXD, with game engines such as Unreal, Unity, and Godot that can publish to the consoles, it would seem that T3D is abandoned. However it still has merit, especially if you like programming FPS games. Early in its development cycle, Garagegames did support console and Apple iphone development, of which I hope someone can bring back. (The capabilities are beyond my expertise). Like you, I prefer the TGE engine over the later T3D. I am currently producing YouTube videos about my experience with it at Crazy Scorpion GameDev Diaries. Let me know what you need to know about TGE at [email protected] for now until YouTube allows comments on my channel. Mention this github chat so I'll respond.
