Rad Pro 2.1beta4: Reboot on shutdown

I dropped "radpro-fnirsi-gc01-ch32f103r8-2.1beta4-install.bin" on the mounted "boot" drive and that seemed to go normally with an instant firmware update to 2.1 beta4.

The bug is fixed

• Yes, holding the LEFT button now resets the instantaneous average and counting, blinking and clicking continue as normal.

However, I have a few new problems with this version.

• I can't shut it down now! If I hold the power button, it immediately reinstalls 2.1 beta4 or at least appears to. It may simply be displaying the version on this auto reboot. In any case it reboots instantly on any attempt to shut it down. It cannot be shutdown without disconnecting the battery now. When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, it stays off until I hold Power to start it up as normal.
• I can't mount the boot drive to replace the firmware file.
• After the immediate, automatic reboot, the battery indicator sometimes goes to an empty battery icon and the statistics show 0.000V. This sometimes corrects itself, sometimes not.

I'd obviously prefer to go back to the non-beta obviously but I can't get it to mount the drive now.

I managed to get back to 2.03 by disconnecting the battery, reconnecting it and then connecting the USB cable. Then, when powering it up the boot drive mounted and I reverted to 2.03. It now powers down normally.

So, 2.1 beta4 did fix the Instantaneous Average bug, but seems to have significant issues.

In the install package, there were two binaries for the ch32.
radpro-fnirsi-gc01-ch32f103r8-2.1beta4-install.bin.
This was 48k
and
radpro-fnirsi-gc01-ch32f103r8-2.1beta4.bin.
This was 40k

I used the -install version. Was that correct? What's the difference?

That's correct! FYI, the -install version clears the settings and log, the other one doesn't.

There was an error with the watchdog timer (which resets the microcontroller in case of malfunction). Could you try again with 2.1beta5? https://github.com/Gissio/radpro/actions/runs/13228168353/artifacts/2561063487

Will do. I've written watchdog code myself. I once redesigned a watchdog circuit that was originally designed to be enabled by the CPU AFTER it boots. Needles to say, that design failed, requiring my fix. :)
