Fixes:

• Updated statistics to display battery voltage for all cells.

• Corrected settings to display hours in AM/PM format when 12-hour format is selected.

The matter is very specific and need a little bit deep understanding of the impact to human health from ionizing radiation. In general there are two types of health effects from radiation: stochastic and deterministic. For deterministic effects there is certain threshold of the received effective dose (not dose rate), after which threshold, negative impact will be present for sure. Particular threshold/s was revised during the years and is published by ICRP (International Commission on Radiological Protection) in their official publication, which by the way are the foundation for international and national regulations in the field, all around the world.
Strictly, received dose is unmeasurable quantity and we need some other measurable quantity and connect it to effective dose. For that reason ICRP developed some models and after big efforts there also defined and developed such easy measurable quantities like equivalent dose, ambient dose equivalent etc. In SI unit system, the unit is Sv (Sievert) and derivatives. All these quantities has their values represented for some period of time - rates. In example rate of the ambient dose equivalent [Sv/h]. etc. But, for measuring in that unit and then deciding does this value is dangerous for us we need something else - a number (coefficient) which will give us transformation from direct reading from GM-tube (cps, cpm etc.) to values of appropriate quantities in mSv/h or uSv/h for which ICRP published distinct criteria for health decisions. These coefficients should be determined in process of calibration of the apparatus.
For hobby and domestic use, public available of manufacturer published coefficients are sufficient.
Now a word about color scale of indication of the measurements. In general this is not good idea in my opinion.

First it depends of the situation of irradiation. Is it prolong irradiation or just brief? Is it irradiation because of surroundings or the environment? And many more situations. Also the population in terms of radiation protection is separated in two general groups: general public and professionals. For each group there are different dose limits and very important thing is that medical diagnostic by irradiation is not subject for limiting, because there are concept for positive outcome than negative, from that diagnostic activities.
Also in some regions on Earth where people leave, natural background may exceed several tenths or thousandths uSv/h.
So my general suggestion (this is just my professional opinion) is: If you register reading from measuring device, which exceed natural background two or three times and there are significant change of the value as you move around, then there are something suspicious on the spot of higher reading. And you should do some investigation for localizing and identifying of the cause for this values. If the reading are in higher magnitude and there are more rapid changes moving around, you need help and assistance from professional.
Usually in average living areas in the world (always be aware of the natural background) rate of the ambient dose equivalent is around 0.12-1.60 uSv/h.

Second reason: You always should be sure that your equipment is in perfect order. You should always check that reading are within some variance (because of the probabilistic nature of the radiation). You should keep track of the "health" and age of the GM-tube, because during time and the strength of the radiation which was measured (in lifetime of the tube), parameters and registration effectiveness deteriorates and calibration coefficients might not be valid anymore. In this regard just simple "point and shoot" approach might be very misleading in both ways - false positive or false negative. You should take care of your devices.

Third reason: These devices are just for hobby and curiosity. They are not professional ones and as such it is forbidden to take health decisions from them. This is the reason that their manufacturers do not take responsibility about the way by which the reading are interpreted in any mean. Inside the package there are not supplied any charts, infographics and etc. regarding that interpretation.

As opposed, quantities as body temperature is in straight and well know conjunction with health and there no any doubts about interpretation, even by general public.

About chart above. In general, thresholds for deterministic health effects remain almost the same in last 20 years, but levels below 1.0 Sv ( = 1000 mSv), evolves in way of decreasing, because of new scientific researches.

But for the sake of practical usability in a D&D (or similar) scenario, I would like to see the dice-roll numbers appear much larger, preferably filling the width of the screen. As it is, they are so small I have to squint to see them, and other players need convincing by seeing it themselves close up. Might it be possible to make the numbers larger? Many thanks again.

Thanks. That one has the same problem too, it shuts down as soon as it starts up. The self built one reads a wrong battery voltage (1.26V) and shuts down immedately. Guess its the same problem here too.

Yeah, confirmed me the issue by setting the voltage returned by readBatteryVoltage to a fixed value... Trying to figure out what is going on I saw that appearantly for my gc01 the PWR_BAT_CHANNEL reading always returns around the same value, regardless of the actual battery voltage... will have a closer look later to whats actually going on there for me

I am currently running 2.2beta5 version.
There is one issue: When the battery voltage reach critical level ~3.1V device is still working, but when reach ~3.0V its shuts down.

The device can work till 2.6V.
With ~3.00V when device is in shut down mode then I cant use STM32 ST-LINK Utility. I need connect additional battery to power up the device ant then ST-LINK V2 programmer will see the chip. With the older versions I don't have this issue.
Please do shut down voltage about 2.6V then will be no problem.

SOLVED:
With FNIRSI GC-01: It mostly doesn't boot here (battery fully charged). Either it hangs at the boot screen with the version or screen remains black. In very rare attempts, it boots normally. So there is some random behavior. I double-checked the firmware against controller type and tube type. If i reconnect the device to the PC, the firmware file is gone from the drive (that's probably normal?).
Each time i copy firmware onto the drive again, it boots and works just one time.
Have i probably missed something? Beside of that ... gorgeous firmware.
Addition: I checked the voltage of the CR1220 power cell which is 1V only. I will try with a new one.
Addition2: After inserting a new CR1220 (measured 3.2V) the effect still remains.
Addition3: There was probably a problem with the boot loader. I don't know. I flashed the boot loader with a ST-Link2 device, put the firmware onto the usb drive again and it boots and works perfectly now.

A while ago I had a look at the bootloader with ghidra and and fiddled with my own device and came to the conclusion that for whatever reason a part of the flash that the bootloader checks was overwritten and the bootloader therefore malfunctioned. I could flash the bootloader alone and the already existing firmware would start. the bootloader tries to check for certain things in the application firmware area (like the reset handler and initial sp) but also other weird things I do not understand yet.

FNIRSI GC-01 2.2beta2 the lower line does not correspond to the numbers correctly 500 is half of 1u. And there is not enough on the line 10 m.
