Are you planning to extend the scope of KHI to include support for other platforms, e.g: EKS and etc?

Yes. We are happy to accept it.
There are many Kubernetes users using GKE and other Kubernetes cluster managed by another cloud provider.
If we could provide the similar debugging experience to these users, it's also beneficial for our customer as well.
This is an OSS project, we are happy to receive PR.

I have one concerning thing around here. We can accept your PR, but we can't have testing environment requiring a cluster from other providers. We maybe hard to run KHI by ourselves against these providers.
If you want to automate log retrieving seamlessly, maybe you would choose to add many codes on our repository to query CloudWatch directly.
But we already have OSS kube-apiserver log support although it only supports providing logs via file upload.
I think an utility to gather audit logs from EKS or CloudWatch to generate jsonl for a specific range would be very useful and easier for a first step, and it should be usable with the OSS kube-apiserver feature on KHI.
