HEXRDGUI version: 1.1.4.dev135+g1946cd0b
HEXRD version: 0.9.9.dev120+geae142b

When I apply a mask in HEXRDGUI to mask out invalid pixels, the mask appears to be active when viewing the image series, but is not being applied when creating eta-omega maps. example screenshots below:

In the image series view, masked pixels are highlighted in green. In the eta-omega map, bands of very high values at fixed eta ranges are the nominally-masked pixels.

Turning on filtering in the eta-omega map eliminates these bands and allows me to proceed with find-orientations and fit-grains, but it does seem like the mask in the instrument file should be applied prior to eta-omega map creation so that the masked pixels are never included in calculations.
