"Error opening file using libavcodec"

I installed the Ubuntu APT package on my 25.10 system. I have FFmpeg installed from the APT repo too, but things aren't working. I can't figure out how to configure the codecs. Maybe I'm being a dumb Linux noob here, but can someone explain?
