Error Message:

No authentication methods available. Did you create authentication.ini when setting up Icinga Web 2?

This should fix the problem.

We were experiencing this as well. You must use ; for comments in ini files and not #.

Check if you have comments in your ini files, if they begin with # then they won't load correctly.

Replace the # with ; and try again.
