Should we add some easy way (with an example generic implementation) for people to be able to make supports for other mod loaders (e.g. neoforge) without having to hard fork.

Maybe provide a generic implementation as a base or something? This would be good so you wouldn't need to write your own code just for that as for example with; 94213c5

Most if the stuff behind Quilt/Fabric/Legacy Fabric has already been factored out into a common textile builder. I could factor out the part that makes all of the servers, that could be improved. Otherwise, the main issue is that servers just get packaged differently, so a lot of the time a generic base wouldn't be that helpful.

If that is what you're asking: it's already possible to easily run arbitrary stuff. Just make a nix package that runs whatever you need to setup & start the server. For example, the naive way to run forge is:

Just point services.minecraft-servers.servers.<name>.package to that, and it's good to go.
