Latest Update
Update 1.25
Hello everyone!
I finally finished up another update to the mod, and this time I've added some new config options. The main fixes this go around were some stuff to the Lantern API which appears to still have some stuff I need to work out before it's finished in full.
The main thing added in this update were three new config options for Metal Sonic! I've added an Enable check for him for those who wish to play with the original Metal Sonic model. I've also added two options for his hover animation. One allows for his animations to be swapped as I had in my original release of the mod prior to this update. The other option allows for the hover to be used for both of his running animations.
More updates with configuration will be coming out as I get around to them. I asked on Twitter for some feedback on what kind of options would be liked, and I'll definitely be trying to implement them. If you have any more suggestions, feel free to Tweet me or post it as an issue here.
Full Changelog
- Lantern API fixes
- Sky Chase Acts 1 and 2
- New Config Options Added
- Enable/Disable for the CD style Metal Sonic from the Mystic Ruins
- Swappable hover animations for Metal Sonic's Run 1 and Run 2 animations.
- An Enable option for Metal Sonic to always hover when running.
Reminder
Since there is a config.ini update, you will need to delete your config.ini and run the mod. It will create a new config.ini file for you that you can modify as you please. I've also added additional commenting into the configuration that should make options a lot clearer on what they do.
Bug fixes
So it turns out the previous release of this mod had a few unforeseen bugs in it. I've fixed them, so here's a minor update to the mod!
Metal Sonic Update!
This is just a quick update adding in a feature I had originally planned that I never finished and completely forgot about. Metal Sonic, based on his Sonic CD appearance, from the tube in the Mystic Ruins base has been swapped in for use in Trial Mode. That's really all there is to this release. Enjoy!
As usual, let me know if you find any problems through the usual outlets of Issues here on the repo or on my Twitter

First Release | Dreamcast Character Pack
Hello everyone! Here is the first release of the much anticipated Dreamcast Characters Pack for SADX. This first release includes all of the characters sans some minor modifications that will be coming later as more work is continued on the mod until I feel it's comfortably completed.
Here's a basic run down of what has been done and what is planned, and potential future additions to the mod:
Completed Work
- Sonic
- Tails
- Knuckles
- Amy
- Big
- Gamma
- Super Sonic
- Event Models
- Sky Chase Models
- Most character Lantern Engine fixes
Planned Work
- Tikal and Eggman (requires more work than originally thought).
- Remainder of Lantern Engine fixes.
- Fixing some minor bugs present in native SADX.
- Fixing minor bugs present in the mod.
- Fixing any errors or bugs that users find after initial release.
The Future of the Dreamcast Characters Pack
- Potential code changes to add in features that could have been in the original game.
- Possible configuration of the mod allowing for crossing both DX and DC model pieces together.
Thank you everyone for being patient and waiting for this, I know it's been a roller coaster of near releases many times in the past and large spans of being completely absent from the scene. It's finally here now though, and will continue to be updated as time goes on.
Please feel free to report any bugs you find to me on this repo directly, on Twitter, or in the x-hax IRC.
Quick Installation Guide
Open the contents of the 7z from the release page and drop the contained folder into the mods folder in your SADX install. Select it in the ModLoader and load AFTER any other Dreamcast mods you may be using. Also note, if you are using the sadx-dc-lighting mod by SonicFreak94, be sure you have the latest version. It makes use of the API available in the latest release.
Quick Update
There was a file included by mistake that was auto-generated and I didn't realize it. Removed it, so there will be a small update notice, but nothing has changed yet. An actual update will be sometime soon though, probably.
