Roadmap for v8 releases?

Hi team,

do you have any kind of roadmap for v8 releases?
E.g. once a week a minor-update, etc.

Or do updates happen as new features are implemented / bugs are fixed?

Background for the question is on using Martin v8 in production and what updates are needed or just goodness (due to company policies we can't update daily, and so on).

There is no specific cadence in terms of release schedules. Release happens when features and bug fixes are done. Typically, for all major releases, we do start from alpha, beta, rc and then production. You can see how 8.x has evolved in terms of a release as below.

Also we do follow semantic versioning so any binary compability breaking changes will result in a major version update.

In summary, you don't need to pull changes daily and that is not going to be the case. Besides, 8.0 was released 4 days ago only. You can always talk to us in the Discord channel and follow the threads of conversation on the whole of Critter stack and also release updates etc.

From the screenshot you shared there is not much time between e.g. RC1, RC2 and release. Also to get feedback the beta-phase seems a bit short. Just my 2 cents...

We have a large suite of tests which gives us confidence on what we are releasing. That said, you can always buy a commercial support plan which will give leverage/support/turn around/feedback to ensure whatever features which you are using continue to work as expected.
