Great idea, but I'm not confident they will have any interest in taking this on.

In #1283, I try to make the case that if we create the packages by migrating what Joshua has done, we'll end up with a package repository and a bunch of builds. Getting upstream to take these over is probably a lot more likely than getting them to start the process on their own.

Indeed it does. I’m not advocating for you to do that work alone. No project ever finds sustainability through a single contributor. I thought I detected the interest you are affirming here, but how do we take away the other distractions of life so you can succeed?

You already started the cycle of getting funded for the work by creating the best existing solution in the space. Some funders appear to be sustaining. It’s probably not enough. I’m wondering about things such as creating a YouTube channel to go through what you do. Make the work visible and show others how to learn. Remind people with the “like/subscribe/patreon” bit to improve cash flow and maybe bootstrap some other developers via the content. Ask for help where you need it.

Most people can’t do what you’ve done and there’s no judgement if the next step isn’t attainable, just sharing ideas. I’m a huge fan of what you’ve done so far and trying to contribute what I can. 🤓
