Should `reproject` modify geometry?

GDAL does e.g. antimeridian cutting in their reproject method, but replicating everything they do would be a Herculean task.  Still, it might be worth forcing an antimeridian cut when going from one CRS to another.  Something to chew on - not necessarily actionable right now.
