How do I set my Steam status to Online while farming (without showing the games)? #3464

I read that it can do that but I can't, for the life of me, find a way to do it. The configuration page is so complicated. Can someone please tell me a step by step like I'm a three-year-old? Thank you. |

You can't, perhaps that's why you couldn't find it - because you're mixing things up. You can have multiple sessions connected on the same Steam account. Steam then displays them in order of preference:
So when you have one session, i.e. your Steam client connected, then that'll be displayed, whatever it is. But when you have both your session and ASF session, it depends how you configured your ASF. By default ASF is configured to use online status, so naturally it'll display on Steam, including its playing status. However, it's enough to configure it to offline or invisible to avoid that. Now, what Steam will show depends on whether you yourself are online on Steam (in the second session) or not, if you are, then it'll display as online (as your session is #2 while ASF is #3 on the above list). Likewise, if you start a game (yourself), it'll show as playing game (as your session is #1 while ASF is still #3 on the above list). If both you and ASF are offline, then Steam will show as offline, even if one is playing games, as both fall into #3.

I'm sorry but perhaps I worded it poorly. I meant that I wanted to farm offline, not starting my own gaming section. I wanted to do the OnlineStatus thing but I could not figure out how to set it up so I needed help. I went to the config folder and opened up the bot but there's nothing there to configure. Only this: { Basically I want to know how to use this feature: The configuration page and FAQ don't provide a step-by-step tutorial on how to use this feature. I've been trying for hours. |

Why are you opening the files and trying to edit them manually? You have ASF-WebConfigGenerator, you have ASF-ui, how did you manage to create the initial config?
