vtk + paraview simple together?

Hi guys,
Is it possible to use vtk and paraview simple together. Basically I have a working pipeline in vtk that can load an obj file with a texture. This all works fine but I now need to bring in functionality using paraview simple. Can I mix the two using paraview.VtkRemoteView to get the best of both worlds?

Yes you can! Are you relying on ParaView with MPI or just single node?

If you want to bring VTK datasets, you will need to use the ParaView TrivialProducer to bring it into your ParaView pipeline.
If it is rendering piece, you will need to get your hands on the vtkRenderWindow from the ParaView view and make your VTK calls on it.

We don't have out of the box examples of that, but hopefully those pointers will help you figure it out.

It’s the rendering piece Seb - single nodes. I presume if I dig around I should be able to get the vtkRenderWindow from Paraview view and pass it to the Vtk pipeline. Is there a specific function that returns vtkRenderWindow from Paraview view do you know of the top of your head?
