Regarding the legal regulations concerning foundation models, many of these models rely on training datasets that are collected without explicit user consent. Simultaneously, the advancement of these models heavily depends on platforms that aggregate and provide this data. Although foundation models offer substantial productivity gains, they pose significant challenges to society, particularly in terms of privacy and consent. Given the rapid pace of technological evolution, there is a pressing need for legislation to adapt swiftly. However, it is crucial that this legislative evolution does not stifle innovation or hinder industrial applications. How can we balance these competing demands effectively?
