"Failed to load layers" Error

Extracted DSVania on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4652 - the latest one, as of typing, as far as I'm aware).
Extracted files from a fresh Dawn of Sorrow ROM.
Got the following error when trying to click on a room:

Is it possible to fix this...?

Are you sure it's actually a vanilla DoS ROM? I can't think of a reason an error like that would happen when drawing the tileset other than the ROM is corrupted or modded or something. (I've never used Windows 11 but that seems unlikely to be related.)

So the ROM seems to check out.

DSVania was working perfectly fine the day before yesterday, but then my laptop updated overnight (Windows...ugh) and now it's not working. Even when I delete the DSVania folder and the ROM and re-extract both from their original ZIPs.

Oh, and this appears in the Terminal window that opens alongside DSVania:
