Compiling the Plugins for Linux and Windows - the best way

Until today (2024-07-17) we compile all plugins like this:

• Using nuitka on a Windows machine
• Using cpython on a Linux machine

In both cases

• we get several files per build (one of which is the binary of interest, but all of them are needed, of course).
• which we put into an archive, overwriting existing shared files.
• the archive gets huge, huge on Linux, and HUGE in terms of GB on Windows.

We noticed some things in #744 and #597, but I guess we need to discuss this in general.

What is the best way to compile the plugins for Windows and for Linux?
