Line numbers by default in code browser #1757

Describe the Feature
As with most code editors, I would very much like to have the line numbers appear by default in the code browser. This is particularly the case since error messages, either from the editor or from the debugger, give line numbers. This doesn't help a lot without the line numbers in the editor...
