Erase bootloader

Hello,.
how to use serial monitor on megacore 3.0.1? other questions.
if I downgrade from 3.0.1 to version 2.2.3. If I write bootloader version 2.2.3, will it automatically erase the bootloader 3.0.1 on the mega128 chip?
