Refactor How Upload Dialog Functions

Currently, the upload dialog kicks off as soon as it is entered into the DOM. Also, if it is closed, it puts a halt to the process.

It should be possible to continue with other tasks as an upload is running. There should be a status menu that shows the process and allows the inspection of running tasks.
