feature request : hide the menu window

hi there i am looking for some way to hide the pop up menu. initially it was vrey helpful but now that i have learned all the keybindings it just gets in the way and feel distracting can you please address this

Unfortunately popup menu is used to steal the focus for key inputs. I don't know java swing enough to address this issue
