at night the 'Standby Face' is on , unless it is in "Sleep" mode, lots of light
Describe the solution you'd like
have a "Night Mode" SKill -- so I can use it as a clock
have a "Time" display with colors of choice [ I like green - similar to the 'old' green-screen terminals :) ]
with a black background - very similar to the "What time is it?" skill
Describe alternatives you've considered
Time skill could listen to "Good Night" -and keep the display until an event {below] occurs {more than the 30 secs currently}
-use the WakeWord/button or if an Alarm is set ; change to "Standby Face"
[edit]
"go to sleep" skill might be another place to do this action
possibly a 'fading' alternate between time and sleep face ******** edit 4/21 - want to drop this idea, grz

Wholeheartedly ➕ the color idea! My whole aesthetic is shades of purple. My editor theme is Shades of Purple 😉
The fade is probably a good way to handle it. The regular display, with a different/no background, and a relatively dim font of configurable color.
FWIW, most of the stuff I run like that goes off of local sunset. Night mode on desktop, automatic theme switchers, they all try to nail the timing by searching some API for sunset.
Thanks for the input -
I am more of the shades of forest/army green -- even though I was a Navy
sailor !!
'
Aix sent me the link for the QML color scheme labels -- baby steps :
Python/qml/qt/yaml -- all new to me
again - thanks
