Oklahoma Mesonet MDF URL Changes

Hello! Thanks for including Mesonet data in your DART software. We wanted to make sure that you're aware of some recent/upcoming changes to our URLs that will need to be updated in your code and/or docs.

We plan to decommission the MDF download URL format, http://www.mesonet.org/index.php/dataMdfMts/dataController/getFile/YYYYMMDDHHMM/mdf/TEXT, by the end of 2026. The preferred route for accessing MDFs is now to pull the file directly, ideally over HTTPS: https://data.mesonet.org/data/public/mesonet/mdf/YYYY/MM/DD/YYYYMMDDHHmm.mdf.

We also plan to decommission the URL for pulling station info, http://www.mesonet.org/index.php/api/siteinfo/from_all_active_with_geo_fields/format/csv, by the end of next year. Although a transitional CSV format is available (note: with a few added soil fields) at https://api.mesonet.org/index.php/export/station_location_soil_information and should be available into at least part of 2027, for longer-term support we strongly recommend switching to the JSON output at https://api.mesonet.org/v2/sites?status=all if possible.
